| In Greece, there are no annual property taxes. However, at the time of purchase there is a one time tax. This tax applies both to greek and to foreign owners. If you just buy land the tax including legal fees is approximately 5% of the purchase price. When you buy an existing house the tax with legal fees is approximately 15% of the purchase price. But you can pay less tax for a new home by purchasing the home before it is actually built. In this scenario you pay the tax on the land which is only 5% - there is no additional tax when the house is completed. | ||
